Jennifer is an architect, writer & community builder based in Portland, Oregon. She has over 25+ years of experience in the design industry working on projects of varied scales ranging from private residences to multi-story commercial buildings, most recently leading the Residential Studio at Telford + Brown Studio Architecture. As the founder of studio RALLYMADE Design & Architecture she provides a resource to connect, create & communicate on the importance of design. Passionate about educating the public on the value of design & promoting a more democratic creative process, she is a contributing writer for a number of publications including dwell, Portland Architecture, Oregon Home & UrbDeZine.

As a committed advocate supporting women and underrepresented groups within the profession of architecture, she served as previous chair of the AIA (American Institute of Architects) Portland Committee on Equity, Diversity & Inclusion and initiated the annual Future Vision Symposium advancing EDI dialogue. Most recently she held the Board role as AIA Oregon Portland Section Director, representing over 1,800 local AIA members at the State level. Currently she chairs the AIA Oregon Small Firm Exchange (SFx), is the Oregon State representative for the AIA National SFx & serves on the Board of AIA National SFx. The mission of the AIA SFx is to advance the mutual interests of architects practicing in small firms by advocating value, sharing resources and informing AIA National of issues impacting small firms.

Proud recipient of the Architecture Foundation of Oregon's Van Evera Bailey Fellowship in 2019, an annual grant awarded to architects and related professionals for the purpose of advancing their career development and encouraging greater contribution to their profession and community. Jennifer used the award to research gender inequity within the profession of architecture, including the barriers women face with gaining construction knowledge. Seeing this fellowship as an opportunity to continue her work towards understanding the underlying elements that push women out of the profession even as more women are graduating with architecture degrees than men.

A graduate of Fordham University, she received her Art History degree in 1992. She obtained her Master of Architecture degree in 1998 from the University of Oregon, with an emphasis on Sustainable Design. When not working or tackling home improvement projects, she finds great joy in spending time with her family, including her two teenage children & three dogs.
